Core Values

History

Kandara Band was founded in Pokhara, Nepal, in 1992. With over three decades of progressive journey, we have become synonymous with authentic Nepali music—representing home, heritage, and cultural pride.

Our music has built a shared identity that resonates deeply both within local communities and the global Nepali diaspora. As we honor our legacy, we continue to reimagine it—embracing new technologies and creative innovations to keep our story alive for generations to come.

Mission

To uplift Nepali identity through music that heals, connects, inspires, and evokes a sense of nostalgia, belonging, and homecoming.

Vision

To honor the legacy of authentic Nepali music while harnessing the power of Social Impact Entertainment to reimagine cultural storytelling for the next generation.

Our Core Values

  • Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion
We embrace voices from every background and ensure every story finds its place in our music.
  • Belonging
Through every performance and platform, we create spaces where every Nepali—wherever they are—feels seen, heard, and rooted.
  • Remembering the Past
We honor the legends of Nepali music whose footsteps guide our journey, ensuring their voices are never forgotten.
  • Collective Storytelling
We are more than musicians—we are guardians of shared memory and messengers of social transformation.
  • Cultural Stewardship
Our melodies carry the spirit of Nepali identity, the richness of diverse tradition, and the joy of cultural celebration.

Our Approach

Whether we’re performing in a mountain village or on international stages, our approach remains rooted in authentic Nepali music, deep community connection, and purposeful social impact. Kandara is harnessing the power of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as a transformative initiative where art meets activism, and where music becomes a force for healing, unity, and meaningful change. Through this approach, we bridge generations and geographies, uplift underserved voices, and reimagine what music can do for Nepal.
